April 18, 2008
Effective as of April 21 2008, the
reconfiguring of the Bruker system will be less
frequent. Reconfigurations will be done between 1PM and 5PM during the
work week. So if you signup for x-ray time on the Bruker and it
requires a reconfiguration, you need to start your time at 1PM or 5PM.

Xiangxin Rui has found A job and is leaving UNL.
Dr. Yi Liu will take over as the X-ray
specialist on June 1, 2008 until then Steve
Michalski the materials preparation specialist will manage the
daily operation of the X-ray facility. |

Jul 14, 2006 Brian will be on vacation from July 17 - July
31st. During this time Tom George(2-5341) will be reconfiguring the
Bruker system. He has agreed to be available for reconfigurations at
9AM and 1PM during the work week. So if you signup for x-ray time on
the Bruker and it requires a reconfiguration, you need to start your time at
9AM or 1PM. |

A new, state of the art, x-ray diffractometer has been added to the
facility. Please see the About Facility page for details !! |

02, 2003 The power supply on the Rigaku D/Max-B
diffractometer has been replaced. This should fix the problem of
intermittent shut-downs we have been experiencing lately. |

Users are now required to enter their Co/Ctr # when making a reservation
which will be billed according to the time reserved on the calender.
Therefore, if necessary, all users should edit or delete reservations (before
the reservation time expires) to reflect actual instrument usage. See
instructions on the Calendar link (part 6) for
how to do this. |

The X-Ray Materials Characterization Facility (XRMC) now has a new website
with a direct link to an online instrument sign-up calendar. Trained
and badged users have been given accounts with userid set to first name and
password also set to first name. Passwords can be changed on request. |
